MAMBAMIAMBA JOINS TANZANIA'S CLEAN COOKING ENERGY JOURNEY

Residents of Mambamiamba Ward in Same District, Kilimanjaro Region, received education on the benefits of clean cooking energy on July 30, 2026, during the official launch of a branch of the Tanzania Women Empowerment Network (TAWEN). The event brought together various government institutions, development partners, and members of the public, with each institution given an opportunity to showcase its services and highlight opportunities available within its sector. The Ministry of Energy used the occasion to educate residents on the advantages of clean cooking energy, including improved public health, environmental conservation, and reduced household energy costs. Speaking to journalists on July 28, 2026, TANESCO's Acting Director of Communications and Customer Service, Ms. Irene Gowelle, said that temporary power outages will be implemented in selected parts of the country to enable the completion of the project.
