TANZANIA TO CONTINUE USING OMAN MARKET TO EXPORT ITS PRODUCTS – AMBASSADOR WAZIRI

📌 Meets and holds talks with Oman’s Secretary General for Industry, Trade and Investment; 📌 Says exports of Tanzanian products to Oman have increased. Zanzibar Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ambassador Waziri Salum, has held talks with Oman’s Secretary General for Industry, Trade and Investment, H.E. Ibtisam Al Farooji, and her delegation, with the aim of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Waziri briefed the Omani delegation on the trade opportunities available in Tanzania and expressed the country’s intention to increase exports of its products to Oman, particularly livestock and agricultural products. He said trade between Tanzania and Oman has increased from USD 18 million in 2017 to USD 160.8 million in 2025, with Tanzania importing oil and gas products from Oman. Tanzania and Oman have maintained strong trade relations, underpinned by a long-standing historical partnership between the two countries.

DAR ES SALAAM:  The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, in collaboration with the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), has revised the timetable for some national examinations and assessments for Standard Four, Form Two and Form Four that were initially scheduled for November and will now be conducted in October 2026, in a move aimed at avoiding challenges that could be caused by heavy rains expected across the country. GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS KILLING OF SIX CONSERVATION OFFICERS, WILDLIFE DEATHS IN NGORONGORO

DAR ES SALAAM:  The Government has expressed concern over the killing of six conservation officers in the Ipole area, Sikonge District, Tabora Region, where local residents are alleged to have attacked the officers. The Government has also expressed concern over the deaths of 13 wild animals, including 11 lions and two hyenas, in the Ndutu area of Ngorongoro District, Arusha Region. The Government said the incidents could affect efforts to promote and develop the tourism sector in the country. Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam, Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Ashatu Kijaji, said the Government would continue conducting investigations in collaboration with security and law enforcement agencies to establish the causes of the incidents and take legal action against those found responsible. GOVERNMENT ALLOCATES SH20 BILLION TO COMPENSATE KIPUNGUNI RESIDENTS

DAR ES SALAAM:  The Government has allocated Sh20 billion to continue compensation payments to residents of Kipunguni, Dar es Salaam, as part of a plan to clear compensation arrears owed to affected residents in phases. The Director of Finance and Accounting at the Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA), Mohamed Seif, said a total of 1,864 beneficiaries had been verified, of whom 717 had already received their compensation payments. He said 1,147 beneficiaries remained to be paid, adding that TAA had already received Sh20 billion from the Government to continue with the compensation exercise. According to Seif, a total of Sh86 billion has so far been received and used to pay compensation, out of the Sh144 billion required to settle all claims. He said following the allocation of Sh20 billion in the latest phase, the remaining amount to be paid stands at Sh58 billion.
