FOREIGN MINISTER KOMBO MEETS OACPS SECRETARY-GENERAL, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO REFORMS AND STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP





The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), has held talks with the Secretary-General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), Hon. Moussa Saleh Batraki, aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and the OACPS and accelerating the implementation of the Organisation's reform agenda.

During the meeting, held in Dar es Salaam on 20 July 2026, Minister Kombo reaffirmed Tanzania's commitment to supporting reforms that will enhance the OACPS' efficiency, accountability, and capacity to better serve its Member States.

He also underscored the importance of the OACPS as a vital bridge for strengthening cooperation among African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. He emphasized the need for sound resource management and effective implementation of the Organisation's programmes to enhance the confidence of Member States and development partners.

For his part, OACPS Secretary-General Hon. Moussa Saleh Batraki expressed appreciation for Tanzania's leadership, its contributions to the Organisation, and its continued support for the reform agenda. He commended Tanzania's role in advancing the objectives of the OACPS and fostering solidarity among Member States.

Mr. Batraki also praised Tanzania's contribution to strengthening regional and international cooperation, reaffirming his commitment to working closely with the Government of Tanzania to promote trade, investment, and sustainable development for the benefit of all OACPS Member States.
