WMA STAFF PARTICIPATE IN NBC DODOMA MARATHON





Employees of the Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) participated in the NBC Marathon held in Dodoma on the morning of July 26, 2026, an event organized by NBC Bank.

The main objective of the marathon was to raise funds to support medical treatment for underprivileged patients while promoting the importance of physical exercise in improving public health.

WMA took part in the event to support this humanitarian initiative and demonstrate the commitment of government institutions to promoting health and social well-being.

During the marathon, six WMA employees completed the 10-kilometre race, while one employee competed in the 21-kilometre half marathon.

Speaking during the event, Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba commended both the participants and the organizers. He also encouraged Tanzanians to take part in similar events to help raise funds for patients in need and promote a healthier nation.

Speaking on behalf of WMA staff, Dodoma Regional Manager Ibrahim Saidi said:

"We participated to support the NBC Marathon's mission of assisting those in need of medical treatment. We also encourage Tanzanians to embrace regular physical exercise so that we can maintain good health and continue providing quality public services."

*Government Launches 15274 Hotline to Ease Access to National ID Information

Dar es Salaam: The Government has urged citizens to use their mobile phones by dialing *15274 to easily access information related to National Identification Cards (NIDA). Speaking today, December 29, 2025, the Minister for Home Affairs, George Simbachawene, said the service will enable citizens to check the status of their National ID cards, including whether the card has been produced or not, with feedback provided within five days. He explained that through this number, citizens will receive important information regarding their National IDs, adding that damaged ID cards are expected to be replaced starting February 2026. “By using this number, you will be able to get information on whether your ID card has been produced. I emphasize that damaged ID cards will be issued in February 2026,” said Minister Simbachawene.
