The Government, through the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQUIP), has invested TZS 6.361 billion to construct six new secondary schools, expand infrastructure for Form 5 and 6 classes in six schools, and build teachers’ houses and toilets in Iramba District, Singida Region. Providing an update on the education projects in Iramba District, District Commissioner Hon. Suleiman Mwenda stated that the construction of these schools will strengthen the education sector and improve students’ performance. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to be the guest of honor at the official inauguration of the Kwala Dry Port and the launch of modern Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) freight train services between Dar es Salaam and Dodoma. Speaking to the media in Dar es Salaam, the Minister for Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa (MP), said the event will take place on July 31, 2025, at Kwala in the Pwani Region. The ceremony will also include the reception of new and refurbished wagons for the Central Line (Meter Gauge Railway – MGR). Dodoma Region is among the areas that have received significant funds through the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project ( #SEQUIP ), having received more than TZS 36.596 Billion . The funds provided by the government have been used to construct 41 new secondary schools , which include one girls’ school, one boys’ zonal school, 36 ward secondary schools, one regional vocational school, and two ward vocational schools. This was revealed by the Dodoma Regional Education Officer, Mwl. Vicent Kayombo , who stated that the funds have also been used to construct 77 classrooms, 119 toilet pits, 19 laboratories, 22 dormitories, and 22 teachers’ houses . Mwl.
