The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade , H.E. PΓ©ter SzijjΓ‘rtΓ³, has concluded his official visit to Tanzania on September 29, 2025. During his stay, H.E. SzijjΓ‘rtΓ³ held a private meeting with his host, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo , followed by bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening diplomatic cooperation in strategic sectors, including education, agriculture, tourism, technology, trade, and investment. As part of the visit, H.E. SzijjΓ‘rtΓ³, together with H.E. Ambassador Kombo, participated in the official opening ceremony of the Embassy of Hungary offices located in Masaki, Dar es Salaam . Hungary Supports $55 Million Water Project in Biharamulo, Opens Embassy Office in Dar es Salaam

The Government of Hungary has announced its partnership with Tanzania to implement a major water supply project from Lake Victoria in Biharamulo District, valued at USD 55 million, set to benefit more than 200,000 residents. This project aims to complement the efforts of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, in improving the water sector and ensuring broader access to clean and safe water. GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE INVESTING HEAVILY IN QUALITY CARDIAC SERVICES – MAJALIWA

He stated that such investments align with the national commitment to reduce the costs of seeking specialized treatment abroad, thereby helping to save the lives of many Tanzanians. The strategy focuses on improving infrastructure and services in Mkungunero, Swaga Swaga Game Reserve, and the Kondoa Irangi Rock Paintings. UN NAMES TANZANIA A LEADER IN TOURISM GROWTH.

By Our Correspondent Tanzania has joined other nations around the globe in marking World Tourism Day, celebrated annually on September 27, while continuing to be recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) as one of the leading African countries in terms of tourist growth. Speaking at the climax of the celebrations held at Ngorongoro Conservation Area (picnic site), the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, said the 2024 UN Tourism report named Tanzania the top country in Africa in tourist growth after the COVID-19 pandemic, recording a 48% increase. Tanzania was followed by Ethiopia (40%), Morocco (35%), Kenya (11%), and Tunisia (9%). The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism , Dr. Hassan Abbasi, has invited the private sector to invest in protected areas across the country, including the Swagaswaga Game Reserve, which serves as a tourism hub in Dodoma City.
