The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, has said that Makuyuni Wildlife Park is a new strategic conservation area, easily accessible and offering tourists the opportunity to view wildlife more closely and within a shorter time.

Dr. Abbasi made these remarks today, September 28, 2025, when he visited Makuyuni Wildlife Park as part of his working tour of areas managed by the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA).

He further emphasized that due to the park’s uniqueness, there is a need to continue developing diverse tourism products to allow visitors to engage in various activities within the park.

On his part, the Acting Conservation Commissioner of TAWA, Mlage Yussuf Kabange, noted that the Authority has improved infrastructure within Makuyuni Wildlife Park, including the construction of a water reservoir for wildlife, roads, and crossings that make the park accessible throughout the year.

In addition, Commissioner Kabange stated that TAWA continues to promote tourism and attract investors to invest in areas under its management.

Earlier, while presenting the operational report of Makuyuni Wildlife Park, Park Conservator Officer Ruahamangi Kishe explained that the park is rich in attractions, including elephants, lions, giraffes, hartebeests, zebras, buffalos, and antelopes. He also highlighted that Makuyuni is surrounded by the Maasai community, providing opportunities for cultural tourism.

Makuyuni Wildlife Park is located in Monduli District, about 40 kilometers from Arusha City.
