JUDGE MSHIBE URGES SECTOR-SPECIFIC PREPAREDNESS TO ADDRESS THE IMPACTS OF EL NIÑO
Dodoma, August 14, 2026: Chairperson of the Board of the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA), Hon. Justice Mshibe Ali Bakari, has urged all sectors in the country to make effective use of weather information in undertaking sector-specific preparations to address potential impacts associated with the El Niño phenomenon. Justice Mshibe made the remarks while opening the 25th meeting to discuss the October–December 2026 Vuli rainfall season forecast, held at the PSSSF Conference Hall in Dodoma. “As we prepare to receive the Vuli rainfall season forecast for October to December 2026, it is important for each of us to take responsibility for closely monitoring and understanding the information so as to begin preparations and identify measures to address the anticipated weather-related impacts in our respective sectors, bearing in mind that there is a high possibility that El Niño will continue to strengthen towards the end of 2026,” Justice Mshibe stressed.
