Tanzania, Rwanda Agree to Strengthen Cooperation in Oil Sector




Tanzania’s Minister for Energy, Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi, has held talks with Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Antoine Kajangwe, aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and Rwanda in the development of the energy sector, particularly the oil sub-sector.

The two ministers met today, August 17, 2026, at the Ministry of Energy offices in Mtumba Government City, Dodoma, where they discussed various areas of cooperation between the two countries, with a particular focus on the oil sector.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy responsible for Oil and Gas, Dr. James Mataragio; Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, General Patrick Nyamvumba; and the Ministry of Energy’s Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Goodluck Shirima.
