Residents who visited the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) pavilion at the Cultural Exhibition have expressed their appreciation for the information provided about the Agency’s role in coordinating the bulk procurement of petroleum products and ensuring a reliable supply of fuel in the country.
The residents said the exhibition has provided an important opportunity to learn about the Bulk Procurement System (BPS), how petroleum products are imported into the country, and PBPA’s role in coordinating the entire procurement process.
Ms. Maria Ngilisho, one of the visitors to the pavilion, said the information helped her understand the process involved in ensuring the availability of fuel in the country, which she previously had limited knowledge about.
“I am happy to have received this information because we use fuel every day, but we did not know the process involved before the fuel reaches the country. Now I understand that there are institutions such as PBPA responsible for coordinating the bulk procurement of petroleum products,” said Ngilisho.
Mr. Michael Maganga also said the face-to-face interaction with PBPA officials gave residents an opportunity to ask questions and receive direct clarification on various issues related to petroleum products.
“The information we are receiving here is very important because we have the opportunity to ask questions that concern us as fuel consumers and get answers directly from experts. It is good for PBPA to continue using such exhibitions to reach out to the public,” said Maganga.
According to PBPA, the Agency’s responsibilities include collecting petroleum product requirements from oil marketing companies, conducting international tenders for the bulk procurement of petroleum products, as well as coordinating the receipt and delivery of the products into the country.
PBPA’s participation in various exhibitions is part of the Agency’s efforts to educate the public about its responsibilities and role in the petroleum sector. The exhibitions also provide an opportunity for residents to obtain clarification on the petroleum importation process and the measures being taken to ensure a reliable supply of petroleum products across the country.
