NBC AND DSE LAUNCH DIGITAL SHARE TRADING THROUGH NBC KIGANJANI
The National Bank of Commerce (NBC Tanzania), in partnership with the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (dsetanzania), has launched a new digital share trading service through NBC Kiganjani, enabling Tanzanians to conveniently buy and sell shares of companies listed on the DSE using their mobile phones.
The service integrates DSE Hisa Kiganjani with NBC Kiganjani, making capital market investment more accessible without the need to visit bank branches or capital market institutions.
NBC Managing Director Theobald Sabi said the service will allow customers to buy and sell shares, access market information and monitor their investments conveniently and securely.
DSE Chief Executive Officer Peter Nalitolela said the service is also available to people who are not existing NBC customers, who can download NBC Kiganjani and open an account using their NIDA identification.
The partnership marks an important step towards increasing public participation in Tanzania’s capital markets and encouraging more Tanzanians to use their bank accounts not only for saving, but also for building wealth through investment.
CMSA Director of Research, Policy and Planning Alfred Mkombo welcomed the initiative, saying the integration will help bring more people into the capital and securities markets through digital platforms.
