CITIZENS EXPRESS SATISFACTION WITH PBPA EDUCATION AT CULTURAL EXHIBITION

Citizens who visited the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) pavilion at the Cultural Exhibition have expressed satisfaction with the information they received about the Agency’s role in coordinating the bulk procurement of petroleum products and ensuring a reliable supply of fuel in the country.

The visitors said the exhibition provided them with an important opportunity to learn more about the Bulk Procurement System (BPS), how petroleum products are imported into the country, and PBPA’s role in coordinating the process.

Ms. Maria Ngilisho, one of the visitors to the pavilion, said the information had helped her understand the process involved in making petroleum products available in the country, an area she previously had limited knowledge about.

“I am happy to have received this information because we use fuel every day, but we did not know much about the process involved before the fuel reaches the country. I now understand that there is an institution such as PBPA that coordinates the bulk procurement of petroleum products,” said Ngilisho.

Mr. Michael Maganga also said direct interaction with PBPA staff had given citizens an opportunity to ask questions and receive immediate clarification on various issues related to petroleum products.

“The information we are receiving here is very important because we have the opportunity to ask questions that concern us as fuel users and receive answers from experts. It is good for PBPA to continue using such exhibitions to reach out to citizens,” said Maganga.

According to PBPA, among the Agency’s responsibilities are collecting petroleum product requirements from oil marketing companies, conducting international tenders for the bulk procurement of petroleum products, as well as coordinating the receipt and delivery of the products into the country.

PBPA’s participation in various exhibitions is part of the Agency’s efforts to educate citizens about its responsibilities and its role in the petroleum sector. The exhibitions also provide an opportunity for citizens to obtain clarification on the petroleum importation process and the measures being taken to ensure a reliable supply of petroleum products in the country.
