VICE PRESIDENT LEADS MOURNERS AT THE BURIAL OF THE LATE MRS. SUZANA MAGUFULI





The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, represented the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, at the burial ceremony of the late Mrs. Suzana Ngolo Magufuli, mother of the late Fifth Phase President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli. The burial took place in Kilimani, Chato District, Geita Region.

Delivering condolences shortly after the requiem mass for the late Mrs. Suzana Ngolo Magufuli, the Vice President said President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan was deeply saddened by the loss and conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends, and all those affected by the bereavement.

The Vice President urged Tanzanians to use the late Mrs. Suzana Ngolo Magufuli as an example of good parenting, moral upbringing, and patriotism by raising children who prioritize national interests and are ready to serve the nation in any position entrusted to them. He added that the best way to honor the late Mrs. Suzana Ngolo Magufuli is by emulating her example of nurturing children with strong values and good morals.

He said the passing of Mrs. Suzana Ngolo Magufuli demonstrates that she played a major role in raising the late President Dr. John Magufuli, who made a significant contribution to the service of the nation. He noted that the large number of condolence messages from citizens on social media reflects how deeply Tanzanians were touched by the life and leadership of the late Dr. Magufuli, who served the country with great patriotism.

Similarly, the Vice President described the late Dr. John Pombe Magufuli as a leader who dedicated himself to defending the nation and who had the determination to mentor and nurture others into future national leaders. He added that selflessness and doing good deeds for others become lasting blessings for an individual and their family.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Simon Nyahinga expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for the great love, compassion, comfort, and support she showed during the illness of Mrs. Suzana Magufuli. He said that since the passing of the late Dr. John Magufuli, President Samia has continued to stand with the family throughout the entire period of treatment.

He also thanked national leaders and retired senior leaders for the assistance and comfort they provided to the family during Mrs. Suzana Magufuli’s treatment and throughout the mourning period. Furthermore, he thanked the Government for taking responsibility for all funeral expenses.

The requiem mass and farewell prayers for the late Mrs. Suzana Magufuli were led by the Archbishop of the Mwanza Catholic Archdiocese, His Grace Renatus Nkwande, and attended by various bishops, priests, leaders, retired senior leaders, and members of the public.

Mrs. Suzana Magufuli was laid to rest at the Magufuli family cemetery in Kilimani, Chato District.
