NCCR-MAGEUZI CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNITY AHEAD OF THE GENERAL ELECTION

By Our Correspondent, Dar es Salaam

The NCCR-Mageuzi Party has called on the public to continue upholding national peace and unity, urging citizens to avoid engaging in acts of provocation or violence as the country heads toward the General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025.

The call was made today, October 27, 2025, by the party’s Secretary General and running mate for the presidency, Dr. Evaline Wilbard Munisi, while addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

“Peace and unity in any nation are more valuable than gold, diamonds, or any precious stones. Every Tanzanian has the responsibility to safeguard them at all costs, regardless of political or religious differences,” said Dr. Munisi.

She added that the General Election for the United Republic of Tanzania will take place on October 29, 2025, while the Zanzibar election will be held on October 28, 2025. Dr. Munisi emphasized that this is a historic and crucial event for the nation’s future, hence the need for Tanzanians to maintain peace and solidarity.

Dr. Munisi noted that since the beginning of the election campaigns, there have been no major challenges in their conduct, a sign that the country continues to enjoy peace and stability. She attributed this to the strong foundations laid by political leaders and institutions overseeing the electoral process, including the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking about the party’s 2025 manifesto, Dr. Munisi highlighted one of its key agendas — “National Consensus” — which aims to strengthen peace, unity, and reconciliation in the nation-building process.

“We achieved significant progress through political cooperation in reforming some of the electoral laws and regulations. The government listened and implemented our recommendations, and as a result, the campaigns have been peaceful,” she explained.

She further stated that so far, there have been no objections or disputes, giving the party confidence that justice will prevail and the rightful winner will be declared. Dr. Munisi also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, under the leadership of Director Ramadhan Kailima, for effectively managing the electoral process.

Dr. Munisi concluded by emphasizing that NCCR-Mageuzi does not wish to see the elections marred by chaos or acts that threaten national peace.

“We reject any form of street protests — our demonstrations will be seen in the ballot boxes. We will turn out in large numbers to vote for the change and transformation we desire,” she stressed.
