Dr. SAMIA LEADS OPINION POLLS WITH 84.5 PERCENT, CIP–AFRICA SURVEY REVEALS

The presidential candidate for the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is leading with 84.5 percent in the latest opinion poll conducted by the Centre for International Policy – Africa (CIP–Africa).
The survey indicates that she continues to enjoy strong public support ahead of the General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025.
According to Thabit Mlangi, the Director of Research and Publications at CIP–Africa, the runner-up in the poll is Salum Mwalimu, the CHAUMMA presidential candidate, who garnered 3 percent of the votes.
The opinion poll involved a total of 1,976 respondents, all of whom are registered voters possessing valid voter identification cards and eligible to participate in the upcoming general election.
CIP–Africa has been actively involved in various electoral processes across the African continent through research, opinion polls, election observation, debates, and policy dialogues.
The center works closely with institutions such as the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) of South Africa, the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and Nairobi, Kenya, as well as the Africa Think-Tank Dialogue based in Cape Town, South Africa.
