Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko, has commended Total Energies and Super Star Forwarders (SSF) for achieving high standards in transport safety, urging other transporters to follow their lead, as these companies set a commendable example.

Dr. Biteko made these remarks on June 25, 2025, in Dar es Salaam during the celebration of 30 years of partnership between Super Star Forwarders and Total Energies.

"Today we are gathered here to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the partnership between these two companies, Total Energies and Super Star Forwarders. Over the years, you have been outstanding international partners in the transportation of various products, especially through specialized tankers. I am truly impressed—congratulations," said Dr. Biteko.

He noted that this partnership has enabled a reliable fuel supply in the country, created employment for hundreds of youth, and attracted neighboring countries to use the Port of Dar es Salaam for cargo transit, thereby creating more opportunities for Tanzanians.

Dr. Biteko called on all cargo transporters in the country to adhere to high safety standards by ensuring their trucks are equipped with all necessary safety devices, such as GPS, and to comply with existing guidelines.

Additionally, Dr. Biteko assured stakeholders that the government will continue working closely with all business players to ensure a favorable working environment, including the implementation of predictable policies that both protect and attract more investors to the country.

Minister for Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa, also emphasized the importance of road safety, noting that it is not just a policy matter but a national interest, as road accidents result in significant losses, including human life and economic damage. He urged transporters to use roads responsibly and meet required standards.

The French Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Anne Sophie, highlighted the significance of the day for both Tanzania and France, marking three decades of beneficial cooperation between the two companies, including driver training and the use of road safety systems and technologies.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Super Star Forwarders (SSF), Mr. Seif A. Seif, praised President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for her leadership and efforts in strengthening and developing the transport sector in the country.

On his part, Senior Vice President of Total Energies for Africa – Marketing Services, Mr. Jean Phillipe Torres, applauded the Tanzanian Government for fostering a conducive investment environment and its strong commitment to strengthening the energy sector.
