PPAA INVITES PUBLIC PROCUREMENT STAKEHOLDERS TO VISIT ITS SABASABA BOOTH FOR EDUCATION

The Public Procurement Appeals Authority (PPAA) has urged public procurement stakeholders and the general public to visit its exhibition booth at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, to gain a better understanding of the Authority's mandate and the services it provides, particularly the use of the complaints and appeals module under the National e-Procurement System of Tanzania (NeST).

The call was made by the Head of the Legal Services Unit at PPAA, Ms. Agnes Sayi, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Mr. James Sando, during the exhibition at the Ministry of Finance pavilion in Dar es Salaam on July 1, 2026.

During the exhibition, PPAA is providing public education on various services, including the determination of appeals arising from public procurement processes, appeals related to debarment from participating in public procurement, and complaints resulting from the failure of Accounting Officers to issue decisions within the legally prescribed timeframe.

Ms. Sayi explained that the Authority is also educating visitors on decisions concerning complaints submitted after the execution of procurement contracts has commenced, applications for extension of time to file appeals out of time, enforcement of PPAA orders, applications to set aside ex parte decisions, and applications for the reinstatement of appeals.

The 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair officially opened on June 28 and will run until July 13, 2026, at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds in Dar es Salaam. Various public institutions are participating in the exhibition to showcase the services they offer to citizens under the theme: "Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba): Tanzania's Pride."
