EQUITY GROUP BRINGS INVESTORS TO EXPLORE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN TANZANIA MAINLAND AND ZANZIBAR



A High-Level Business Forum organized by Equity Group Holdings in collaboration with the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) has brought together international investors, local business leaders, and government institutions to promote investment and strengthen trade partnerships in Tanzania.

The forum was held today, June 30, 2026, at the Mfaume Kawawa Convention Centre within the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) grounds, popularly known as Saba Saba, as part of a business and investment mission taking place in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar from June 29 to July 2, 2026.

Officially opening the forum, the Director of Business Development at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Sempeho Manongi, said the Government continues to create a conducive environment for the private sector to expand trade and attract both domestic and foreign investment.

He noted that the partnership between the Government, trade institutions, and the private sector aligns with the country's agenda of advancing industrialization, promoting trade, and enhancing Tanzania's competitiveness in regional and international markets.

Speaking at the forum, the Head of Retail, SME and Private Banking at Equity Bank Tanzania, Theresia Mayanie, said the bank is committed to connecting international investors with Tanzanian businesses through financial services and business advisory support.

She explained that the bank offers trade finance, investment advisory services, foreign exchange solutions, as well as guidance on regulatory and trade compliance matters.

“Equity is proud to serve as a bridge between capital and opportunity. Through this mission, we are not only showcasing Tanzania’s immense potential but also providing the financial and technical support needed to transform opportunities into sustainable business success,” said Mayanie.

Meanwhile, Equity Group's Director of Commercial Relations, AQ Hamza, said the Group continues to use business missions as a strategic platform to strengthen economic ties across Africa.

He added that over the past four years, Equity Group has successfully organized more than 25 trade missions both within Africa and internationally.
