The Deputy Conservation Commissioner of the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) responsible for Forest Resources Marketing and Utilization, DCC Salehe S. Beleko, has expressed satisfaction with the large number of visitors attending the TFS exhibition booth during the ongoing Environment Week celebrations in Dodoma, saying the response demonstrates increased public awareness of the importance of forest conservation and sustainable use of forest resources.

Beleko made the remarks on June 3, 2026, during his visit to the TFS booth at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre grounds, where he had an opportunity to observe various public education activities as well as exhibitions of products and services offered by the agency.

He said the exhibition serves as an important platform for TFS to showcase its contribution to environmental conservation, the promotion of a green economy, and efforts to encourage citizens to participate in the sustainable utilization of forest resources.

During the visit, Beleko toured different sections of the booth and observed educational programs on forest conservation, tree seedling production, beekeeping, and investment opportunities available within the forestry sector.

He also inspected a variety of forest-based products, including honey, beeswax, and other value-added products, which have continued to attract visitors and stakeholders attending the exhibition.

Speaking to TFS staff participating in the event, Beleko commended them for their efforts in educating the public and promoting opportunities available in the forestry and beekeeping sectors. He emphasized the importance of making full use of the exhibition to deliver environmental conservation messages to the public.

The Environment Week exhibitions began on June 1 and are expected to conclude on June 5, 2026. The event has brought together various public and private institutions to promote environmental conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources.
