DAR ES SALAAM STOCK EXCHANGE HOSTS UGANDA SOVEREIGN SUKUK ROADSHOW



The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange hosted the Uganda Sovereign Sukuk Roadshow in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and Yusra Sukuk Company Limited.

The roadshow provided investors and capital market stakeholders with an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the Uganda Infrastructure Sovereign Sukuk valued at €205 million, alongside an additional Green Shoe Option of €30 million, forming part of the wider €495 million Sukuk issuance programme.

Key highlights of the Sukuk include: 📌 Asset-backed and tradable Sovereign Sukuk

📌 Takaful-insured coupons and redemption amounts

📌 International Islamic Rating Agency (IIRA) rating process currently underway

📌 Tax exemption on investors’ return payments

The session was led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary at Uganda’s Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Patrick Ocailap, and brought together secondary market players, institutional investors, and key financial sector stakeholders to explore opportunities within the regional Islamic capital market.
