CLEAN ENERGY OPENS OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONTENT CREATORS
By Our Reporter, Mwanza
Content creators in Tanzania have been encouraged to leverage their creativity to generate income by tapping into opportunities arising from clean cooking energy, through educating the public via their work, including educational videos, comedy, storytelling, and various campaigns that can easily reach communities.
The call was made on April 1, 2026, in Mwanza by Energy Engineer from the Ministry of Energy, Benezeth Kabunduguru, while speaking during a training session for content creators.
The training was organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports in collaboration with the Tanzania Culture and Arts Fund, with the Ministry of Energy among the key facilitators.
He stated that the training aimed to help content creators improve their work by focusing on content monetization strategies, personal branding, and adherence to copyright regulations.
Kabunduguru noted that content creators have a significant role in transforming societal mindsets through their creativity, emphasizing that high-quality and engaging content can be purchased, providing income to creators while also delivering important messages to the public.
He further explained that the government has set a target to ensure that by 2034, at least 80 percent of Tanzanians will be using clean cooking energy.
He added that solutions for clean energy are already available and continue to reach citizens, with the main challenge being access to accurate information for a wider audience.
As a result, he urged content creators to seize this opportunity by producing content that educates the public on the benefits of clean cooking energy and the risks associated with the use of non-clean energy sources.
He emphasized that providing accurate information to the public will drive positive change, improve people’s livelihoods, and protect the health of Tanzanians.
