DG of EWURA Attends High-Level Meeting with Oil Marketing Companies



Dar es Salaam: March 4, 2026

The Director General of EWURA, Dr. James Mwainyekule, today, March 4, 2026, participated in a high-level meeting of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) operating in the country. The meeting was convened by the Minister of Energy, Hon. Deogratias Ndejembi (MP), to discuss government strategies aimed at strengthening the availability of petroleum products, particularly during the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States.

During the meeting, Minister Ndejembi assured the OMCs of the government’s firm cooperation and informed them that appropriate measures have been taken to address challenges arising from the conflict.

“The Government is alert, well-prepared, and has done everything possible to ensure a reliable supply of petroleum products. We will provide you with full cooperation. I urge everyone to comply with the country’s laws,” he emphasized.

He also called upon the companies to continue cooperating at all times to ensure that Tanzanians receive uninterrupted fuel services.

The Director General of EWURA also took the opportunity to assure service providers of continued regulatory support in their operations, stressing that any party found violating established procedures will face legal action in accordance with the law.
