DEPUTY MINISTER KISUO URGES EMPLOYERS TO COMPLY WITH LAWS TO PROTECT WORKERS

The Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office – Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Hon. Rahma Kisuo, has urged factory owners to conduct their operations in accordance with established laws and regulations in order to safeguard the interests of workers.

She made the remarks, March 13, 2026, during her visit to Morogoro Region where she toured and inspected 21st Century Textile Limited and Carankali Recycling Tanzania Limited.

Hon. Kisuo emphasized that the welfare of workers is a fundamental pillar for the development of industries and the national economy, calling on employers to strictly adhere to labour laws in protecting their employees.

She also urged workers to ensure they use protective equipment to safeguard themselves against workplace accidents and related hazards.

On the other hand, Hon. Kisuo directed various institutions to continue providing education to workers so as to help prevent labour disputes in workplaces. She further encouraged Labour Officers to educate employees on the meaning and importance of the minimum wage.

Additionally, Hon. Kisuo instructed the Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) to conduct thorough inspections in workplaces to assess safety standards for workers and submit detailed reports.
