CAPITAL MARKET STAKEHOLDERS PRAISE MARKET PERFORMANCE, CSD DIRECTOR SAYS INVESTMENT LEVELS HAVE INCREASED
Capital market stakeholders have met to discuss the future development of the country’s stock market, with the investment forum aimed at enhancing transparency, representation, and investor participation.
Speaking at the forum today in Dar es Salaam, the Chief Executive Officer of CSD & Registry Company Limited, Benito Kyando, said the main objective of the platform was to bring together capital market stakeholders to deliberate on the market’s direction, challenges facing the sector, and strategies to sustain its growth.
Kyando noted that the company continues to strengthen investor registration and record-keeping systems through the use of modern technology, a move intended to simplify participation for individual investors and improve service efficiency.
He added that the meeting also focused on providing financial education through online seminars (webinars), particularly targeting Tanzanians living abroad, a strategy that has contributed to increased diaspora participation in stock investments.
According to him, market trends indicate positive signals, with the value of share transactions rising significantly compared to last year, reflecting improved investment activity and growing public awareness.
He also urged investors to closely monitor their investments and regularly update their information to ensure they fully benefit from available opportunities, including timely dividend payments.
On his part, financial education expert Edmund Munyagi said such forums serve as a catalyst for improving public participation in capital markets. He emphasized the importance of expanding financial literacy and integrating it into school curricula from primary education to universities.
Meanwhile, stock market stakeholder Emeliana Busara said the meeting provides a direct platform for investors to access accurate information and understand market trends, noting that digital participation and technology are strengthening confidence and encouraging more people to invest.
