MCHANGE ACCUSES CHADEMA, CALLS ON PARTY LEADERS TO STOP MISLEADING THE PUBLIC
Habibu Mchange has come out with serious allegations against leaders of the opposition party, Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), accusing them of being involved in abductions, torture, and killings of innocent youths, as well as orchestrating various political incidents since 2011 with the aim of misleading the public and tarnishing the image of the Government.
According to Mchange, the alleged incidents include the Arusha unrest, the Morogoro incident in which journalist Arizona lost his life, the death of Daud Mwangosi in Iringa, claims of the abduction and torture of Yona Temeke, the acid attack on Musa Tesha, and allegations of torture involving the Director of Jambo Media Group in Bagamoyo.
Furthermore, Mchange has accused CHADEMA leaders of misappropriating public donations, alleging that party leaders led by John Heche collected funds on behalf of the party’s Chairman, Tundu Lissu, where a total of 41 million Tanzanian shillings was raised, but only 26 million shillings was officially reported to the public.
He further claimed that 19 million shillings was sent to activists based in Nairobi, allegedly to incite insults against the Government. He also alleged that funds collected during the funeral of the late Edwin Mtei are unaccounted for, claiming that the money was never handed over to the deceased’s family.
Mchange emphasized that he has evidence to support his allegations, which he said he has already submitted to various authorities, adding that he is familiar with individuals allegedly involved in some of the incidents.
Mentioning John Heche and Mnyika by name, Mchange called on CHADEMA leaders to engage in open and civilized politics, stressing that national peace is more important than the interests of political parties.
