Tanzania Launches e-Utatuzi System to Transform Delivery of Labour Justice
Dar es Salaam.
The Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office – Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Deus Sangu, has said that the newly launched digital system for registering and handling mediation and arbitration cases, known as e-Utatuzi, is expected to bring major reforms in the delivery of justice in Tanzania.
Minister Sangu made the remarks today, January 21, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, during the official launch of the e-Utatuzi system.
He said the system will reduce costs for citizens who previously had to travel long distances to access services at the Commission’s offices, enhance transparency and accountability, and promote access to justice while contributing to economic growth. He also commended the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA) for its efforts in developing and implementing the e-Utatuzi system.
On his part, the Judge-in-Charge of the High Court, Labour Division, Dr. Yose Mlyambina, said the e-Utatuzi system marks a significant digital transformation by improving transparency, speed, and efficiency in the delivery of labour justice.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA), Usekelege Mpulla, thanked the Sixth Phase Government for facilitating the installation of the digital system, noting that it will simplify operations and improve service delivery to citizens through online platforms.
