DAR ES SALAAM STOCK EXCHANGE MARKET CAPITALIZATION REACHES TZS 23.995 TRILLION



The market capitalization of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) has reached more than TZS 23.995 trillion, representing an increase of 34.3 percent compared to 2024, when the market value stood at over TZS 17 trillion.

Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam, DSE Chief Executive Officer, Peter Nalitolela, said the exchange has continued to record profits and growth as public awareness and interest in investment keep improving day by day.

He said the growth reflects the strong performance of the market, driven by increased trading activities, new listings, and sustained efforts in digital transformation and public sensitization to encourage more citizens to participate.

The DSE CEO added that the Domestic Share Index rose from 4,618.78 to 5,759.41 by the end of 2025, an increase of 24.7 percent, indicating that domestic listed companies performed well. Overall, the market, including foreign companies, grew by 29 percent.

He further noted that since its establishment, the exchange has continued to record growth in the value of share transactions alongside sustained investor education campaigns, factors that have significantly contributed to the expansion of the market.
