MINISTER AWESO SETS UP CAMP IN DAR TO TACKLE WATER SHORTAGE CHALLENGES

Minister for Water, Hon. Jumaa Aweso (MP), has conducted a working tour in the regions of Dar es Salaam and Pwani, visiting major water storage tanks and the Lower Ruvu Water Treatment Plant to assess the current status of water production and distribution. This visit is part of the Ministry of Water’s continued efforts to address the water shortage caused by delayed rainfall.

Minister Aweso urged citizens to develop the habit of storing and preserving water during this period. He also directed the Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) to collaborate with private stakeholders who own large wells to ensure communities continue receiving water services.

Additionally, Minister Aweso issued directives to DAWASA to ensure that all government-drilled wells are connected to the distribution system to increase water availability for the public.
