The Commissioner for Conservation of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), Mr. Abdul-Razaq Badru, has emphasized that effective conservation and management of natural resources remain the Authority’s core responsibility, as conservation is the heartbeat of tourism growth and community development.

Speaking to NCAA staff at the Authority’s headquarters in Karatu, Arusha, on November 7, 2025, Commissioner Badru underscored that the proper management of wildlife, forests, and cultural heritage within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a matter of great importance. He urged all staff to serve visitors with efficiency, hospitality, integrity, and discipline to maintain Ngorongoro’s brand as a Premium Safari Destination.

“The primary responsibility of every Ngorongoro staff member is conservation—everything else follows. Protecting and preserving our natural resources is a matter of life and death. I urge each one of you to be a guardian of these treasures,” he stated.

Presenting the institution’s performance report, Deputy Commissioner for Conservation, Tourism, and Community Development, Mr. Joas Makwati, revealed that the number of tourists continues to rise. In the first quarter ending September 2025, over 350,000 tourists visited the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner for Corporate Services, Mr. Aidan Makalla, encouraged staff to remain open and actively contribute ideas, feedback, and perspectives to improve the Authority’s performance and ensure continued delivery of quality and sustainable services.
