FOUR ARRESTED FOR OPERATING ONLINE TELEVISION WITHOUT LICENSE.

The Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Force, in collaboration with other law enforcement authorities, has arrested four individuals suspected of operating online television stations without proper licenses.


Speaking to journalists, the Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander SACP Muliro Jumanne Muliro said the operation was conducted between October 3 and 10, 2025, leading to the arrest of the four suspects. Those apprehended include Japhet Alex Thobias and Joseph Augustino Mabwe, residents of Sabasaba–Ukonga, alleged owners of WISPOTI TV; Tegemeo Zacharia Mwenegoha, a resident of Tabata–Ilala, owner of T.MEDIA TWO; and Elia Costantino Pius, a resident of Mbezi Juu–Kinondoni, owner of COSTA TV.


The Commander noted that preliminary investigations have been completed and legal procedures are underway to ensure the suspects are brought before the court as soon as possible.


The Police Force has also urged citizens to conduct their activities in compliance with the law and warned that it will not hesitate to take action against anyone found violating legal and regulatory procedures.
