MINISTRY OF ENERGY STAFF TRAINED ON PROPER USE OF CLEAN COOKING ENERGY
📌 Following the handover of energy-efficient induction cookers by Dr. Biteko
📌 It was highlighted that the cookers consume little electricity at a low cost
Staff of the Ministry of Energy today received training on the proper and efficient use of induction cookers, which consume minimal electricity. The training follows the recent handover of the cookers by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko.
Dr. Biteko handed over the cookers to the Ministry staff as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Clean Cooking Energy, recognizing them as ambassadors in promoting the adoption of clean cooking energy among citizens.
The training, held at the Ministry’s offices in Mtumba, Dodoma, was organized by the Clean Cooking Energy Unit in collaboration with experts from Positive Cooker Company.
While providing the training, the Chief Executive Officer of Positive Cooker, Mr. Atukuzwe Willson, explained that the purpose of the program is to raise awareness and encourage citizens to embrace the use of electricity for cooking through smart induction cookers that consume less power.
“The goal of this training is to ensure that every Tanzanian shifts away from the use of unclean energy sources to protect both the environment and our health. It is also part of efforts to support the clean cooking campaign, which aims for 80% of Tanzanians to adopt clean cooking energy by the year 2034,” said Willson.
Speaking about the performance of the induction cookers, he added that they consume an average of half a unit to one and a half units of electricity within 15 to 90 minutes of use, equivalent to only TZS 65 to TZS 534. This confirms their efficiency in being affordable, time-saving, health-friendly, and environmentally sustainable.
