MBATINA PLEDGES MAJOR ECONOMIC AND INSTITUTIONAL REFORMS AS TLP LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN.
Dar es Salaam, September 4, 2025 –
The presidential candidate of the Tanzania Labour Party (TLP), Yustas Mbatina Rwamugira, has pledged to introduce major governance and economic reforms if elected in the upcoming General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025.
Speaking at a campaign rally held today at Bakhresa grounds in Manzese, Dar es Salaam, Mbatina said his government would focus on good governance, a strong economy, and youth employment.
He emphasized that one of his priorities would be to ensure hospitals are freed from long-standing debts that hinder service delivery, while also introducing accessible and affordable loan schemes for all social groups.
In addition, Mbatina promised that his government would establish factories in every district, to be managed by local communities, in order to strengthen the agricultural sector, generate income for citizens, and increase government revenue through taxes.
For his part, TLP National Chairman Richard Lyimo said the launch of the campaign marks the beginning of taking the party’s policies to citizens across the country. He urged Tanzanians to participate in the General Election peacefully and support TLP candidates to ensure a resounding victory.
