Doyo, NLD: If Elected, We Will Turn Kilindi into a Business Hub
Kilindi, Tanga
The presidential candidate for the National Liberation Democratic Party (NLD), Hon. Doyo Hassan Doyo, while on his way to Kiteto, Manyara, continued his campaign trail and addressed residents of Kwediboma village in Kilindi District, where he outlined his policies and development plans should he be elected President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Speaking to the people of Kwediboma, Hon. Doyo said that the residents of Kilindi have been neglected in terms of development for a long time, especially in the areas of roads, clean water supply, and health services. He stressed that for the past 64 years since independence, Kilindi has not had an all-season passable road, a situation that has hindered farmers from transporting their produce on time.
“The foundation of development is roads. The abundance of crops you grow, including maize and beans, loses value to middlemen because of the lack of reliable roads. Once given the opportunity to lead, we will build durable concrete-standard roads suitable for the hilly geography of this area, especially the Kilindi–Handeni road,” said Hon. Doyo.
Furthermore, Hon. Doyo pointed out that he had encountered demolished houses that were cleared for a road construction project, which began during the late President John Magufuli’s administration four years ago, but to this day, residents have not been compensated. He promised to ensure that all those affected by the demolitions receive their rightful compensation.
For his part, the candidate’s Campaign Manager, Pogora Ibrahim Pogora, said that Doyo is a patriotic leader who upholds justice and equality. He urged the residents of Kilindi to consider the challenges they face daily—such as roads, water, and health—and vote for Hon. Doyo to realize the true value of their votes.
The Chairperson of the NLD Women’s Wing, Ms. Saidati Fundi, said the country needs real change, and such change can only come through the NLD party. She stated: “Tanzania cannot progress if we do not resolve the problems caused by poor policies. The country needs leaders with determination. Citizens, choose NLD leaders—Hon. Doyo has a genuine vision.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Women’s Campaign Mobilizer, Ms. Adija Dikulumbali, urged women to reflect on the challenges they face, especially the high costs of maternal healthcare services. She emphasized: “The value of your vote lies in choosing a leader who will bring tangible development. You have been neglected for too long—now is the time to rise and give your vote its true worth.”
Hon. Doyo’s campaign convoy is headed to Kiteto, Manyara, where campaigns to promote his candidacy continue, with the NLD Party championing its agenda of equality, patriotism, justice, and development for the people of Tanzania.
