Morogoro Regional Commissioner Commends TFRA for Effective Fertilizer Industry Oversight
Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Hon. Adam Malima, has commended the Tanzania Fertilizer Regulatory Authority (TFRA) for its outstanding work in supervising and regulating the quality of fertilizers in the country, noting that the Authority has made significant progress in fulfilling its mandate.
He made these remarks on August 4, 2025, during his visit to the TFRA pavilion at the ongoing Nane Nane Farmers’ Exhibition at the J.K. Nyerere Grounds in Morogoro.
Speaking after touring the pavilion, Hon. Malima stated that many farmers are now using fertilizers as a result of TFRA’s efforts in providing education and promoting proper fertilizer use.
“I congratulate you for the excellent work you are doing. This is a major achievement that greatly benefits our farmers. You have come a long way, and your success is clearly visible. There have been tremendous changes in this sector,” said Hon. Malima.
He further urged TFRA to continue intensifying efforts to educate and encourage farmers to increase fertilizer usage in order to boost agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of individual farmers as well as the national economy.
On his part, TFRA’s Senior Quality Control Officer, Aziz Mtambo, informed the Regional Commissioner that the Authority is implementing various responsibilities, including managing the fertilizer subsidy program and promoting the proper use of fertilizers in Morogoro Region and other parts of the country.
At the pavilion, Hon. Malima was received by TFRA Board Member, Dr. Catherine Senkoro, who represented the Board Chairperson, Dr. Anthony Diallo, along with the Authority’s management team.
The Nane Nane exhibition provides an important platform for farmers and agricultural stakeholders to learn, gain accurate information on fertilizer use, and understand the various services TFRA offers to ensure the availability of quality, safe, and standard-compliant fertilizers.
