Twenty-four contestants of the Miss Grand Tanzania 2025 pageant, representing various regions of Mainland Tanzania, embarked on a one-day educational tour at the Pande Game Reserve in Dar es Salaam on August 13, 2025, aimed at learning about wildlife conservation and promoting domestic tourism.
The tour was organized in collaboration between the Miss Grand Tanzania organizers and the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) as part of efforts to equip the contestants with conservation and tourism knowledge, and to inspire them to become ambassadors for domestic tourist attractions—particularly the Pande Game Reserve.
Speaking during the visit, Acting Commander of Pande Game Reserve, PC Suleiman Keraryo, said the reserve is a unique attraction located right in the heart of Dar es Salaam, offering visitors the opportunity to explore and experience a range of attractions, including learning about the reserve’s history, biodiversity, and its role in environmental and wildlife conservation.
"Welcome to our Pande Game Reserve—situated in the heart of Dar es Salaam, home to a variety of wildlife species and numerous other attractions. This is the perfect place for you to learn and experience the country’s natural resources," Keraryo said.
He further revealed that the winner of Miss Grand Tanzania 2025 will be appointed as the Pande Game Reserve Ambassador, working with TAWA to promote the reserve and boost domestic tourism, while supporting government efforts in the natural resources and tourism sector.
The Miss Grand Tanzania finals are scheduled to take place on August 16, 2025, at the Superdome Hall in Masaki, Dar es Salaam.
The management of Pande Game Reserve also expressed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Miss Grand Tanzania organizers by ensuring that contestants have the opportunity to stay overnight within the reserve and train in a natural environment, to deepen their understanding of environmental conservation.
For their part, the contestants expressed their excitement about the visit, especially the opportunity to closely observe various wildlife species within the reserve, as well as the warm reception from TAWA officials. They also pledged to act as ambassadors in promoting the reserve to the public.
The visit has been described as the beginning of a sustainable partnership between TAWA and social institutions, particularly those engaging youth, with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and developing domestic tourism for the benefit of both present and future generations.
