MINISTRY OF ENERGY URGED TO MAINTAIN EFFICIENCY IN ENERGY PROJECTS – MKALAMA DED



The District Executive Director (DED) of Mkalama District in Singida Region, Asia Juma Messos, has called on the Ministry of Energy to continue ensuring effective supervision of its institutions so that energy sector projects are implemented efficiently to drive development for citizens.


Messos made the remarks on August 6, 2025, during her visit to the Ministry of Energy’s pavilion and its institutions at the ongoing International Agricultural Exhibition (Nanenane) in Dodoma.



She noted that the government has been allocating substantial funds to implement various development projects for citizens, including electricity and natural gas projects. Therefore, the Ministry should continue overseeing its institutions to ensure these projects are carried out effectively.


The Mkalama District Executive Director also visited the pavilions of the Ministry’s institutions, including TANESCO, REA, EWURA, PURA, TPDC, PBPA, and TGDC, to observe the activities being showcased at the exhibition.


Messos was accompanied on the visit by Mpwapwa District Executive Director Michael Maganga, Dodoma District Executive Director Sakina Mbugi, and Assistant Director of Administration from the Ministry of Agriculture, Eliasifu Mlay.

*Government Launches 15274 Hotline to Ease Access to National ID Information

Dar es Salaam: The Government has urged citizens to use their mobile phones by dialing *15274 to easily access information related to National Identification Cards (NIDA). Speaking today, December 29, 2025, the Minister for Home Affairs, George Simbachawene, said the service will enable citizens to check the status of their National ID cards, including whether the card has been produced or not, with feedback provided within five days. He explained that through this number, citizens will receive important information regarding their National IDs, adding that damaged ID cards are expected to be replaced starting February 2026. “By using this number, you will be able to get information on whether your ID card has been produced. I emphasize that damaged ID cards will be issued in February 2026,” said Minister Simbachawene.
