MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND ITS INSTITUTIONS PARTICIPATE IN THE INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURE EXHIBITION IN DODOMA.



The Ministry of Energy and its affiliated institutions are participating in the International Agriculture Exhibition, which commenced on August 1 at Nzuguni Grounds in Dodoma.


The exhibition is held under the theme, “Choose Good Leaders for Sustainable Development in Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries 2025.”


The event was officially opened by the Vice President, Dr. Philip Isdor Mpango. Experts from the Ministry, in addition to highlighting the achievements in the energy sector such as the completion of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project and rural electrification efforts, are providing education on clean cooking energy solutions.


Furthermore, the public is being informed about various plans the Ministry has set for implementation in the 2025/2026 financial year, including continued electricity distribution in rural areas and the execution of the National Clean Cooking Energy Strategy.


Institutions under the Ministry of Energy participating in the exhibition include the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA), Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), Rural Energy Agency (REA), Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA), and Tanzania Geothermal Development Company (TGDC).

*Government Launches 15274 Hotline to Ease Access to National ID Information

Dar es Salaam: The Government has urged citizens to use their mobile phones by dialing *15274 to easily access information related to National Identification Cards (NIDA). Speaking today, December 29, 2025, the Minister for Home Affairs, George Simbachawene, said the service will enable citizens to check the status of their National ID cards, including whether the card has been produced or not, with feedback provided within five days. He explained that through this number, citizens will receive important information regarding their National IDs, adding that damaged ID cards are expected to be replaced starting February 2026. “By using this number, you will be able to get information on whether your ID card has been produced. I emphasize that damaged ID cards will be issued in February 2026,” said Minister Simbachawene.
