INEC ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR POLITICAL PARTIES TO COLLECT PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION FORMS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the schedule for the collection of nomination forms by presidential and vice-presidential candidates from 14 political parties. The process is set to begin tomorrow, August 9, 2025.


Speaking in Dodoma today, August 8, 2025, INEC Director Mr. Kailima Ramadhani stated that the candidates who will collect their nomination forms on August 9, 2025, will be from Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), National Reconstruction Alliance (NRA), and Alliance for African Farmers Party (AAFP).


“As of today, August 8, 2025, we have received official letters from 14 political parties indicating the dates and times when their nominated candidates for the positions of President and Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania will collect nomination forms at the Commission’s offices in Njedengwa, Dodoma,” said Mr. Kailima.


He further outlined the other political parties and their respective dates for collecting forms as follows: Chama cha MAKINI on August 10, 2025, The National League for Democracy (NLD) on August 10, 2025, United Peoples’ Democratic Party (UPDP) on August 10, 2025, and African Democratic Alliance Party (ADA–TADEA) on August 11, 2025.


Other parties include Union for Multiparty Democracy (UMD) on August 11, 2025, Tanzania Labour Party (TLP) on August 11, 2025, Chama Cha Kijamii (CCK) on August 12, 2025, Chama cha Ukombozi wa Umma (CHAUMMA) on August 12, 2025, Alliance for Democratic Change (ADC) on August 12, 2025, Democratic Party (DP) on August 13, 2025, and National Convention for Construction and Reform (NCCR–MAGEUZI) on August 15, 2025.


Mr. Kailima noted that INEC has officially communicated this schedule to all 14 political parties through formal letters.


“Additionally, it's important to note that this schedule only applies to the 14 parties that had submitted their information by August 8, 2025. If more parties come forward, we will prepare and share a new schedule accordingly,” he said.


He commended all political parties for their continued preparations for the 2025 General Election and assured that the Commission will strictly adhere to the Constitution, laws, and regulations throughout the electoral process.
