GST PROVIDES CONSULTANCY AND SAMPLE TESTING FOR WATER, ROCKS, AND MINERALS
Ministry of Minerals Continues Public Education on Mining Laws and Regulations
The Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST) continues to offer consultancy services and laboratory testing for rock and mineral samples brought in by various individuals who seek to identify the types of rocks and minerals they possess.
Additionally, GST has introduced geophysical research equipment designed for exploring rocks and minerals located beneath the topsoil layer.
Alongside this initiative, GST experts have advised the public to utilize the institution’s laboratory for thorough examination of their rock and mineral samples to determine mineral content and potential, with the aim of improving efficiency and mineral production.
Moreover, the Ministry of Minerals, in collaboration with its agencies, is providing public education on various issues related to the mining sector through its pavilion located in the government exhibition area, Pavilion No. 5.
At this pavilion, citizens are educated on different activities within the mining sector, including mineral exploration, mining laws and regulations, legal procedures for conducting mining operations, mineral trading, as well as best and safe mining practices.
The primary goal of this awareness campaign is to ensure that the public gains accurate knowledge on how to effectively participate in the mining sector while complying with existing laws and guidelines, and to encourage sustainable, safe, and productive mining practices.
In addition, the Ministry invites all citizens to visit the pavilion to learn more about various opportunities available in the mining sector and how to leverage them for personal and national development.
The Ministry of Minerals will continue to work closely with various stakeholders to ensure this knowledge reaches a broader audience, as part of the Government of the Sixth Phase Administration under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, in efforts to improve and develop the mining sector in the country.
