The Conservation Commissioner of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), Abdul-razaq Badru, visited Msomera village in Handeni District, Tanga Region to assess the ongoing development of the area designated for the voluntary relocation of residents from Ngorongoro Division.

Accompanied by the Handeni District Commissioner, Hon. Salum Nyamwese, Commissioner Badru stated that the Authority will continue working closely with relevant sectoral ministries to ensure the village becomes a model settlement by providing all essential infrastructure for the relocated communities.

“Honorable District Commissioner, the government has done a great job here. We will continue to collaborate to make this village exemplary so that both those who have already relocated and those who will move in can live here happily,” said Commissioner Badru.

On his part, DC Nyamwese noted that various improvement works on infrastructure are ongoing, alongside security measures for houses that have already been completed.

Msomera village has become a model settlement following the government’s decision, under the Sixth Phase Administration, to establish all basic infrastructure to facilitate the voluntary relocation of Ngorongoro residents in support of conservation efforts in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
