7TH INTERNATIONAL MINING CONFERENCE RESCHEDULED TO NOVEMBER 2026.
Reason Cited: Preparations for the General Elections
Dodoma
The Ministry of Minerals has announced the postponement of the 7th International Mining Investment Conference, which was initially scheduled to take place in November 2025. The conference will now be held from 19th to 21st November 2026 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam.
According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Eng. Yahya Samamba, the main reason for the postponement is to allow room for preparations for the country’s General Elections, which are scheduled to take place at the end of October 2025.
“The Ministry of Minerals sincerely apologizes to all local and international stakeholders who were expecting to participate in the International Mining Investment Conference that was set for November 2025,” the statement read.
The International Mining Investment Conference, held annually since 2019 under various themes, serves as a key platform for discussing the future of the mining sector, exchanging knowledge, expertise, and experiences, as well as exploring emerging opportunities within Tanzania’s mining industry.
Additionally, the conference plays a significant role in strengthening the investment climate, attracting new investments both locally and internationally, and providing stakeholders with an opportunity to learn about new government policies, laws, and strategies, while also engaging in discussions on legal and economic issues affecting the mining sector.
A highlight of the event is the Mining Gala Night, which is held alongside the conference to recognize and award outstanding stakeholders in the mining sector across various categories, as a gesture of appreciating their contribution to the industry in Tanzania.
The conference brings together a wide range of participants, including Ministers of Mining from other African countries, chief executives of major global mining companies operating in Tanzania, researchers, ambassadors representing their countries locally and abroad, and international organizations.
Other participants include small and large-scale miners, mineral traders, financial institutions, universities and colleges, public and private institutions engaged in the mining sector, as well as leaders from ministries, public institutions, regions, and local government authorities where mining activities take place.
