Treasury Registrar's Office Urges Public Institutions to Utilize Sabasaba Trade Fair to Showcase Government Services.

The Treasury Registrar’s Office has called on public institutions to use the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, as a platform to showcase the services offered by the Government.

Speaking on Monday, July 1, 2025, at the Sabasaba grounds, Mr. Sabato Kosuri, Acting Head of the Public Communications Unit at the Treasury Registrar’s Office, said citizens are the rightful owners of public institutions and have the right to know about the investments made on their behalf. He revealed that the Government, through the Treasury Registrar’s Office, has invested a total of TSh 86.25 trillion in public institutions and companies where it holds minority shares.

Out of that amount, TSh 83.33 trillion has been invested in 152 institutions where the Government holds majority shares, while TSh 2.82 trillion has been invested in 56 companies with minority Government shareholding.

Kosuri stated that the Sabasaba trade fair aligns with the vision of H.E. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in enhancing the efficiency of public institutions with the goal of achieving tangible returns on Government investments.

"As aides to the President, we are committed to fostering a culture of accountability because public institutions are owned by the people and therefore are directly accountable to them," he said.

He further emphasized that the participation of the Treasury Registrar’s Office and its supervised institutions at Sabasaba will provide an opportunity for stakeholders and the general public to ask questions and share feedback.

“Let us use Sabasaba as a platform to receive public opinions and inform stakeholders and citizens about the initiatives and achievements of the Sixth Phase Government under H.E. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan,” Kosuri said.

He concluded by inviting all stakeholders and the public to visit Pavilion No. 39 of the Treasury Registrar’s Office located at the Kilimanjaro Hall.
