PRESIDENT SAMIA ALLOCATES TZS 19.6 BILLION FOR EDUCATION PROJECTS (SEQUIP) IN NJOMBE REGION.



The Sixth Phase Government under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has allocated TZS 19.6 billion for the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQUIP) in Njombe Region.


Out of the total amount, TZS 4.36 billion has been allocated for the construction of various infrastructures including classrooms, laboratories, dormitories, a dining hall, an administration block, and teachers’ houses at the Njombe Regional Girls’ Secondary School — a project that is now complete.



This was revealed on July 17, 2025, by the Njombe Regional Secondary Education Officer, Mr. Nelasi Mulungu, who also stated that TZS 1.6 billion has been disbursed for the ongoing construction of a new Regional Vocational School in Ludewa District.


Mr. Mulungu further explained that the government has allocated over TZS 12.638 billion for the construction of 20 ward-level secondary schools across Njombe Region.


Additionally, more than TZS 1 billion has been provided for the construction of other educational infrastructure in the region, including dormitories, teachers’ housing, and toilet facilities.
