The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) is leveraging the second Conference of Independent Media Councils in Africa, held in Arusha, to promote the unique tourism attractions found in the Ngorongoro area and attract even more visitors.
The conference, taking place in Arusha from July 14–17, 2025, brings together various stakeholders in the media sector from across Africa and beyond, with over 200 participants in attendance.
NCAA’s Chief Tourism Officer, Peter Makutian, stated that NCAA's participation aims to engage directly with the delegates and showcase the rich tourism offerings of Ngorongoro, which was recognized as Africa's Best Tourism Destination in both 2023 and 2025.
"As you may know, Ngorongoro is Africa’s top tourism destination, and visitors are often eager to learn about the attractions, investment opportunities, and tourism activities available. Throughout this conference, we are committed to engaging with delegates and continuing to market our destination," said Makutian.
The theme of the conference is: “Upholding Media and Communication Standards for Quality Journalism in Africa.”
