KIGOMA BENEFITS FROM NUMEROUS SEQUIP PROJECTS.



The government, through the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQUIP), has allocated over TZS 5.7 billion for the construction of infrastructure for two new secondary schools aimed at improving access to education in the Kigoma region.


Among the schools is the Kigoma Girls’ Secondary School, which has been established in Uvinza District and has already begun offering education services to students.


A total of TZS 4.1 billion has been provided by the government for the development of various infrastructures at Kigoma Girls' Secondary School, including laboratories, classrooms, staff and student toilets, dormitories, teachers’ houses, an administration block, a dining hall, an ICT building, and waste disposal facilities.


Additionally, the government is constructing a new, modern vocational school in Kibondo District, Kigoma, at a cost of TZS 1.6 billion.


The completion of this vocational school project is part of the implementation of the new education and training policy of 2014, revised in 2023.
